Wendy has explored yoga for a number of years, initially being introduced to the discipline from the age of eleven while at ballet school. Yoga came back into her life when she trained and studied with the MacManaways, a family of healers, at the Westbank Natural Health Centre, in Fife. Later when teaching yoga classes at Westbank herself, her approach came from a holistic perspective. She had ongoing training in the Iyengar tradition while her children were growing and also explored the Astanga method of yoga, studying with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in India. She did her teacher training in the Iyengar tradition, gaining her diploma in 2000. Teaching yoga workshops at Lendrick Lodge over the last few years, Wendy has ongoing classes and workshops at the Westbank Centre, Synergy Yoga and in Craigrothie, as well as at Lendrick. She continues to study with Senior Iyengar teachers in India and elsewhere and is now qualified to Junior Intermediate level. She is a member of the IYA (UK) and East of Scotland Iyengar Yoga Institute. In addition to her passion for yoga, Wendy practises massage and reflexology and is a member of the British Reflexology Association and International Federation of Aromatherapists.
